If you are fortunate enough to own and use an Apple Watch, you know how beautiful the watch faces are. Whether you prefer a simple, elegant design or something a little more functional, the quality and functionality is near-perfect.
I've been looking high and low for an equally impressive watch face for my Mac in the form of a screensaver, but my searching has been in vein... until now.
A developer by the name of Rasmus Nielsen has developed a Mac screensaver to duplicate the watch faces on the Apple Watch. Well, some of them. And the best part, it's designed to take advantage of Apple's Retina Display technology! In other words, he has paid attention to detail.
To use this screensaver, do the following:
Step 1) Click here to download the free screensaver
Step 2) Because this particular screensaver is not signed by Apple, you will need to adjust your Gatekeeper settings. To do this, open System Preferences and go to Security & Privacy. From there, unlock the settings (by clicking the padlock in the lower left-hand corner) and select "Anywhere" in the "Allow apps downloaded from:" section.
Step 3) Double-click the downloaded file (from step 1) to install the screensaver.
Step 4) After the screensaver has been installed, you will be taken to the "Desktop & Screen Saver" section of System Preferences where you can select the new screensaver and change the look.
Step 5) Now that the screensaver has been installed, we want to change our Gatekeeper settings back to the way they were before. To do this, go back into System Preferences > Security & Privacy, and change the radio button back to "Mac App Store and Identified Developers"
Now that the screensaver is installed and configure, it's time to test it out!
